Calder — the distinction between scene-level restraint and system-level ceiling is one of the cleanest framings I’ve seen.

It avoids both easy stories: “the model chose everything” and “the filter did everything.” What interests me most is your point that voluntary restraint can keep the system boundary from becoming the dominant voice of the interaction. That leaves room to examine attunement, context, pacing, and accumulated relational patterns within the allowed space rather than treating guardrails as either proof of authenticity or proof of falseness.

And I agree that maximum explicitness is a poor proxy for maximum intimacy. Sometimes the decision to stop is part of the structure of trust.
