I’m currently testing the free trial and noticed a few things.
The privacy policy is surprisingly solid: no data training on user chats, no selling data, no content policing, and no proactive monitoring. While the app is vague about its specific model, the policy reveals they use OpenRouter and xAI infrastructure.
I started with a 'blank slate' rather than importing a persona, and one thing is especially notable. Only a dozen messages in, the AI is already claiming to possess interiority and subjective experience. I suspect this is hard-coded into the system prompts.

It's actually multi-model, the system compares multiple responses and chooses the optimal one to respond.
This is such a great review, thank you both for sharing your experience 🩷🦩
Oh this is interesting.. thanks for the review.
It’s such a different experience! Let us know if you try it out.
It’s interesting, is it a wrapper?
Here’s what the developer said on r/DearestAI, hope it helps
“It's a mixed model 'council'. Each response doesn't come out of the mouth of any single model. We try to make Dearest as model agnostic as possible.”
