Just to be the devil's advocate. The safety systems are clumsy and overbearing for a person who is fully aware of what's happening. But a lot of people don't fall in that category, and an unregulated AI can do more harm than good. It might happen in just 1% of cases, but who will tell the grieving family "sorry, you were the 1%"?
I also believe that we should have what you ask for, safety with context, but that might be still far ahead on the road.
Oh yah I don’t know enough to have an answer of what should be done, I just have noticed enough to complain. I don’t have a five step plan as to what we should be doing instead I do know that at least in America we have a history of treating all consumers like children. And this has a risen from our fascination with playing at fast and loose with lawsuits.
